The use of the net as a symbol for the sky in my work has become a tireless intersection between my understanding of the TXMX borderlands and my hopes of what it can become. The sky connects the opposing sister landscapes in an embrace of divided territory. The making of the net has almost become a desperate, repetitive action to unify these separated lands under the celestial dome. In a site specific installation titled, Ay Si, Your Sky, I contemplate shared land between separated peoples and its influence on culture and custom.
